Oh really... not that bad you say, I gotta tell ya for some it really ain't that bad because some people are bums, they don't wanna work, complain how horrible their jobs are and can't wait to get off. These are the kinds of folk that don't mind being homeless. For others, it just happens because of a loss of a job which causes these folks to get behind on their mortgage and are forced out onto the streets. For yours truly, being homeless is something I do not have to worry about, came close though but I took control of the situation and got results. If it wasn't for getting results in a timely manner, I would be like those bums who for whatever reason don't mind being in a homeless state. If its your cup of coffee, tea or milk then go for it. The good news is we are getting ready to move soon but into a better place and not on the streets of our Capitol City. Being homeless ain't too bad... depends on who you talk to I guess.
Remember what C-Note says: being homeless ain't that bad, that is if you are a bummmmmmmmm.
Most starts of spring in Central Illinois do not start out as warm. Yesterday was the first day of spring and with temps in the low 80's makes it feel like July 20th than March 20th. I remember back in my college days when spring arrived or when it was spring break time at LLCC and UIS, the temps were still in the arce-freeze range of the 20's and 30's- NOT GOOD DUDE. Another big sign of the new season is March Madness with wall to wall hoops, people filling out those brackets hoping their team can either get to the Final Four or win it all, plus the " Boys of Summer" preparing for the start of the baseball regular season in Florida and Arizona. Despite all of the obvious signs of spring my personal favorite is when the ladies can don the flip-flops. An opportunity for the ladies to put away those teeny runners and socks and show off those bare feet. Some take sandal season seriously by getting a pedicure and taking special care of the feet while others have lovely feet naturally and don't have to go through all that but others need a ton of work especially lotion by-george. Thankfully winter, or so-called winter is now over so get out and enjoy the lovely weather and plant those gardens soon.
Folks, I gotta tell ya, we have been hearing about Leperchuns from time in-memorium but most see them as mythical or as fictional characters. There is a Leperchun you can truly believe in, yours truly Cnote Fodizzle. You can see me along with the KISS-FM crew at the St.Patties day parade in Downtown Springfield. I will be decked out in my Leperchun outfit shakin booty and having a good-ole time. I hope that this is the year I can get some corned beef and a cabbage man. You can always drink green beer but nothing sings the the spirit of St. Patties Day more so than a corned beef and a cabbage.
For those of you that are regular listeners of The Morning Grind you know that yours truly gets picked on a lot, been a part of a ton of practical jokes and the like but the origins of such did not originate with The Morning Grind, but back in my childhood in the old neighborhood. It has evolved from spelling Springfield real fast which later lead to other things such as raps. In the early 80's I developed a rap called " The Alice Tanner Ladies Killer Rap". I would perform this rap a lot through the school day in my days at Franklin Middle School. The constant impromtu raps lead to my appearance at the 1981 Franklin Middle School talent show where I performed this rap live on-stage. Once I got to Southeast in the fall of 1982,I found that impromtu renditions of the " Ladies Killer Rap" were a bit long so I came up with a shorter rap called " The Southeast Rap" which I could bust out on the fly and wouldn't take four to five minutes to get out. Another thing I became known for was doing the weather forecasts. People would ask me all the time " what's the weather" so I made sure I watched Gus Gordon every night for the latest local weather. But let's take a second and go back to the grade school days for just a moment where I would wear this Russian-style hat with the ears on it, and from time to time it got yanked off my head and had to chase the perpetrator around the playground to get it back and another time in the Iles School cafeteria I ate six hamburger in one sitting, doubt if I can do that today. You can safely say that I have been preparing for The Morning Grind my entire life and not know it. I think people mess with me overall is because they can get a good laugh plus the reactions I give to it.
