No matter who we are, we all like to win, whether in the world of sports or in life, there's no such thing as celebrating a defeat. When one loses when was the last time you saw a team losing a game like the last game of a World Series, Super Bowl, Final Four or any sporting event have you seen the losing team celebrate a defeat? You will never see it because its not in one's nature to celebrate defeats but to celebrate wins. In the Steely Dan song " Deacon Blues" he sees the Alabama Crimson Tide as the winners and he wanted a name when he lost, he picked Deacon Blues. Winning is a part of life but especially in sports whether they be amateur or professional in-nature. Teams fire coaches and managers based on the win-loss record. Bruce Weber knows this lesson all too well when he was fired by Illinois after losing several games in a row to end the Big 10 regular season. Despite his firing by the U of I,  Weber feels like a winner now because he is the new hoops coach at K-State. For a time, Charlie Sheen said he was " Winning", yeah right DUDE. That so-called one-man show tour sucked and got replaced by Ashton Kutcher of all people on the CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men. You call that winning Charlie? Sounds like losing if you ask me. Real winners are the University of Kentucky Wildcats and Head Coach John Calipari on winning the National Championship with a 67-59 win over Kansas. No matter how you look at it, Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks are still winners. Coach Self is a winner like his Kentucky counterpart John Calipari because as the coach of Illinois he recruited the team that Bruce Weber took to the 2005 National Championship game against North Carolina. Since that loss to the Tar Heels that year, Illinois basketball started to slip ever so slowly and ended up in the tank this past season. With this last round of the NCAA Tournament, I participated in the pool not expecting to win or even finish in the middle of the pack. I did however pick the two teams that were in the title game, Kentucky and Kansas. I was confident of a big Kentucky win since the start of this years' tournament. The winning didn't stop there because on the Morning Grind yesterday( April 3rd), I won the game Exacto for the second-straight week, a first for yours truly in the history of The Morning Grind. Remember what C-Note says- Always follow your gut feeling.
