C-NOTE JOURNAL- DAD WOULD HAVE LOVED IT

For those of you that are regular listeners of The Morning Grind on 997 KISS-FM know that my dad died on December 9, 2009 and the 2009 edition of the family Thanksgiving was his last and deep down I kinda had that feeling. The 2010 version of Thanksgiving was the first without my dad and was at my brothers house this year.  I thought about dad throughout but what made the 2010 Thannksgiving interesting was all the dogs present. In addition to my brothers dog, other family members brought their dogs except for mom and me, we didn't have a " Dog in the fight" as they would say. My dad was a lover of dogs and they loved him, even my childhood dog Fido loved Dad, probably more than me. With the dogs everywhere presented a challenge because when it came to Thanksgiving dinner the dogs were around and I chose to eat on one of the two sofas in the living room so I could watch the Dallas game. The dogs, or at least some of them were around and I had the urge to feed em but was told not to so I didn 't. The rest of the evening was marvy but with the dogs around, dad would have been " In hog heaven" as they say. He had to be looking down in delight of the family being gathered together for Thanksgiving. Thursday, the 9th marks the one year anniversary since his death and working my hardest to make it through. And in the month of December, catch me every Wednesday only on The Morning Grind on 997 KISS-FM.
